Waiting for take-out at the pizza place tonight, I was reading this month's bookclub selection. When the food was ready:

Sketchy Pizza Guy: You like to read? That'll be $12.08.

Me: Uh, well….

SPG: (cuts me off) That a good book?

Me: Yeah, I'm …

SPG: What's it about?

Me: Mormon Fundamentalists. It is based around these two guys who killed a woman and her baby because they said they received a message from God.

SPG: Really? Is that a true story? Jesus. You live around here?

Me: No, I live downtown.

Takes pizza and leaves.

The place is two blocks away. The Boy will have to pick up our pizzas from now on.
